At the age of 6, I traveled to Alaska, and spent much of my early years with my parents on trap line and gold mining sites in remote areas of Alaska. I left Alaska in 1959. I first arrived in Arizona in 1967 when my husband was transferred to Fort Huachuca, southeast of Tucson, from a six year assignment in the Far East, including Okinawa and Japan. Here is a picture of my husband, Duke, who passed away July 15, 2003.
