Dreamweaver MX, (CS4 is similar )

click on Site -> Manage Sites This will bring up another screen:

Create a folder where your files will be stored, then create a sub folder named Images. Now you are ready!

Click on Site

Select New Site

Click on the Basic TAB and enter the name you would like to use for your site. It's a friendly name, could be anything you want.

Leave check box at No

FTP address:

ftp.oregoncoast.com

FTP login: <your login>
Password <your password>

Always use lower case, the FTP server is case-sensitive. You won't be be allowed access if you use upper case.

Once you've filled in the correct information, click on Test Connect to see if Dreamweaver can connect to the ftp server.

You do not have to enter what folder your files will be stored on the server, this is managed automatically.

Your home page name:

index.htm

Also, each main page in each sub folder you create should be named index.htm

If you connect even once, your FTP settnigs are correct, don't change them!
