Many malware programmes are coded to run each time the computer is started or when you open a particular programm, like your Internet browser. This causes problems as programs cannot be uninstalled while they are running.
It can therefore be useful, sometimes necessary to work in Safe Mode, This is a windows feature that allows only the basic Windows files and drivers to run on start up.


To start your PC in safe mode, tap or hold down the F8 button on your keyboard immediately after switching on your PC, instead of Windows opening normally, you will see an Advanced Options menu
