"From outside and within the stadium looks like an old European train station thanks in part to its prominent exoskeleton and the Metropolis-like machinery used to open and close the retractable roof. The playing of the 'Flight of the Valkyries' during the opening and closing of the roof was a nice touch."

Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Williams

As Terry and I waited to enter Safeco on Thursday, August 5, who should appear at the centerfield gate but the elegantly attired Bernie Williams and his wife. Bernie was justifiably a bit standoffish, but it was great to see him approach Safeco for the first time just like us.

Mr.Ted Leibowitz

Terry and I met Ted at the Friday night game. He'd traveled from San Francisco with an ailing right hand, carrying a sizeable tote bag. His company was, to say the least, very welcome, and when the Yanks scored five runs in the top of the first inning, we knew we had experienced a special moment together.

Lifelong Yankee Fans Terry Barstad and Kagey

I have known Terry for over ten years, and we work together at Camp Tillamook. We drove up in Terry's new Chevy pickup which is named "Maverick" on the back. Terry had never seen the Yanks in person before, so, as you might imagine, those two days were heavenly for him.
