THINGS TO DO:

  • Area beaches are known for their year-around agates.
  • Hike the spectacularly scenic trail at Cape Lookout State Park, or the trails at Munson Creek Falls, or Bay Ocean and Netarts BAy spits.
  • Visit the Tillamook County Pioneer Historical Museum, The Latimer Quilt and Textile Center, or the Tillamook Air Museum.
  • Tour the Tillamook Cheese Factory and sample some of its famous products.
  • Crab in Tillamook and Netarts bays.
  • Take in the Netarts Chowder Feed (May), the Tillamook County Rodeo and Dairy Parade (June), or the Tillamook County Fair (August).
  • Drive 1 mile towards Cape Meares to Short Beach. Park on the West, side go down the trail (lots of stairs). Cool beach.
  • Drive the 22-mile Three Capes Scenic Loop between Cape Meares and Cape Kiwanda. Stop at the historic lighthouse on Cape Meares.
  • Walk the tunnel through Maxwell Mountain in Oceanside.

  • Oceanside Expresso - Open for light breakfast, lunch and fancy coffee. Serves Tillamook ice cream, rents videos.

Netarts - 3 miles south

  • Rachel's Family Dining - Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. No alcohol. No view.
  • Michkos Upstairs Tavern - Smoky tavern with pool and darts. Burgers, sandwiches,etc. No view.
  • Whiskey Creek Cafe - Open for lunch and dinner. Reasonably priced. Great burgers and homemade pies. No alcohol. Forest view.
