Next Council Meeting Thursday May 15, 2008

6:00 PM   Nestucca High School - ROOM 124

The Council April meeting was short and covered business matters and project updates.  A limiting factors analysis for Sand Lake was proposed to OWEB in April.

We have been busy PLANTING this year:

Nestucca High School, Middle School & Neskowin Valley School kids planting along Neskowin Cr.  Thanks to volunteers & school leaders for the great help!

In March we cleaned up Sand Lake Estuary.*

The Council February meeting included Tierra del Mar resident Lynda Steiner and Pacific City Sun publisher Tim Hirsch.  Short discussions of Council business were followed by preparations for the upcoming Sand Lake estuary clean up.  The meeting ended with pictures from Mike Walsh of the Nestucca Valley Native Plant Nursery at Cloverdale Elementary School.

The January Council meeting covered how Tillamook County manages it road system in general and noxious weeds in particular.  Mike Wynands gave a very informative and professional talk on County Public Works challenges in treating noxious weeds on County roads. Liane Welch followed it with some sobering facts on Tillamook County road conditions and needs. Both topics were well received by our audience.  We appreciate their time.

Check out work we completed last September:

Bear Creek large woody debris project.
