2nd Sand Lake Estuary Clean Up
a success!
About 25 people gathered at the Whalen Island County Park Boat Ramp at Sand Lake on the morning of March 15th. We assembled to to hunt down debris in accessible parts of the estuary. The results were light this year, about 600 pounds of trash. The good news is volunteers were able to cover the shoreline and discovered very little large debris. NO tires or appliances were found. What IS in our waterways is plastic, lots of little pieces of it!
THANK YOU again to all volunteers and others who contributed.
