Outlook Express disconnects SYMPTOMS After you send or receive messages using Outlook Express, your connection to the Internet may be terminated automatically. When this occurs, you must dial up again to regain Internet access. CAUSE This behavior can occur if Outlook Express is set to hang up after sending and receiving messages. RESOLUTION Use the following steps to disable the automatic disconnect option: 1. Inside Outlook Express, click the Tools menu, then select Options. 2. In the Options window, click on the Connection tab. 3. Under the Connection tab, uncheck the option labeled Hang up after sending and receiving. 4. Click the OK button, and restart Outlook Express.
